Accepting donations for legal fees for re-depositing poop in a deadbeat client's yard

THE FULL SCOOP

On April 26th I was arrested because I decided to give poop back to a deadbeat client, Deborah Dillow, because she refused to pay me for my services. However, there are a few details that have not made it into the press that I find quite amusing.

I’ve had a barrage of phone calls and emails from complete strangers, old clients, and current clients. Several people have called me and said that Deborah Dillow (aka Roberts, Leon, Coffman) stiffed them too! Approximately 98% of these calls have been to thank me for doing what I did, and I’ve been hailed as a personal hero by many small biz owners who have done what I did for many years: rolled over and eaten the financial loss. How do you collect bad debt on labor?

The first time I heard about cancer was on the 6pm news! Her neighbor called me to tell me she doesn’t have cancer, it’s just a ploy for sympathy…I would love to know if this is true or just another fabricated story that the media printed and people believed.

I received a call from a lady who rented to the Dillows and evicted them for not paying their rent, she says they trashed her house.

I received a call from a man who used to know Dillow years ago, as Deb Leon, and thanked me for what I did because she’s been “sliding by” and getting away with this crap for a long time.

I spent over 3 hours on 3 service visits to Dillow’s yard and removed about 50 gallons of garbage and dog waste. There was a large pile of pine needles, dog and bird cage debris (Dillow showed me the parrots she also owns) in the corner of the yard that she told me to leave alone as her husband, Mike, was going to take care of it. It was still there when I stopped servicing her yard and I’d estimate there was about 40-50 gallons in the pile. That is just going to smell really bad when summer heats up.

When Dillow signed up for service over the phone, she told me she had 3 dogs: two Shar-Peis and a Golden Retriever mix. Well, the Golden was actually a black and white Pitt Bull mix and it was quite obviously not a Golden. I only met 3 dogs on my initial visit. On the subsequent visits, there were 4 dogs in the yard and I had to ask them to put the black Pitt Bull away because he wouldn’t let me in the yard. Deb told the reporter at the Bulletin that she had 2 dogs. Hmmmm.

I stopped by the Dillow’s house to collect one afternoon. As I was writing a note to stick in the door, a car pulled up. The gentleman who got out of the car was another debt collector for a rent-to-own appliance store, Aaron’s. We knocked and chatted on the porch for about 5 minutes, decided that someone was definitely home and hiding because the dogs were making quite the racket, cars were in the driveway and the ultra-large-screen TV was on. (The front door has a glass panel.) So we stuck our notes in the doorjamb and left.

On another of my attempts to collect money, I spoke with Deb’s husband, Mike. I asked him if they had a new phone number because the one in my files no longer worked. He said that none of the 4 adults in the household had a working phone, and said “If I had any money, I’d have a phone.” Before he slammed the door in my face.

OK. On Monday night, I was interrupted in my poop flinging antics by Deb herself who came out holding a cell phone, apparently video taping me, while she pointed. When I looked to where she was pointing, there was a cop standing there! How did she call the cops when nobody in the house supposedly has a phone??!!

Deborah Dillow told the reporter at The Bulletin on Tuesday that her kids and neighbors helped clean up the mess. It happened on a Monday. On Wednesday, when the TV reporter from Z21 was there to film coverage, the poop was still there. Not only that, it was in places I didn’t put it!!! In order to make the big pile on the lawn, I would have had to get out of the back of my truck and I was there from start to finish. So, who relocated the mess?
